Test anyone, anywhere, anytime

Fast and easy to use, the Cue COVID-19 test offers Air Canada travelers the convenience, privacy, and flexibility to test frequently wherever they may be.

No more wondering if your results will arrive before your flight departs. With Cue, your lab-quality, travel-compliant results are accessible via the Cue Health App on your mobile smart device in about 20 minutes. No waiting. No worrying.

Small enough to fit in your hand, the reusable Cue system easily fits into backpacks, briefcases, and carry-on bags. And each single-use test cartridge is fully self-contained, meaning you don’t have to deal with any test tubes or solutions. Just test and go!

Traveling with little ones? Cue’s COVID-19 tests are safe and authorized for use on individuals two years and older. The simple lower-nasal swabbing process may tickle a little, but it’s not painful or invasive.

Your trusted travel companion

Cue makes testing on the go seamless and stress-free for Air Canada travelers so you can just relax and focus on the adventure ahead.

Cue travel-compliant test results are
clearly displayed on your mobile smart device within the app, making it easy for you as well as airline and customs officials to swiftly provide clearance to individuals with negative results.

The Cue COVID-19 test is a U.S. FDA Emergency Use Authorized molecular nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT) that detects the genetic material of SARS CoV-2, which is an equivalent method to molecular polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing. Cue's COVID-19 test meets the current testing requirements for travelers entering Canada, the USA (not including Hawaii), and many other countries. If you are planning to travel outside Canada and the USA, be sure to check the specific requirements of your destination.

At this time, COVID-19 self-testing requires supervision (proctoring) for the results to be valid for travel. As a valued Air Canada traveler, the proctoring service and certified results are provided to you at no extra cost. (Proctored tests will be automatically added to your cart with the purchase of Cue tests.)

Frequently Asked Questions

CAN I ORDER CUE FROM OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES?

At this time, Cue products can be purchased only by customers with a valid shipping address in the United States or its territories. Cue products are not yet available for sale to individuals residing outside of the United States or its territories.

AS AN INTERNATIONAL TRAVELER, HOW CAN I BE SURE THAT CUE’S COVID-19 TEST MEETS TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS?

U.S.-based customers can now meet Canada’s specific travel testing requirements using Cue’s COVID-19 supervised test option with the reusable and portable Cue Cartridge Reader, which processes test results in about 20 minutes. Under the Air Canada partnership, each Cue COVID-19 test comes with access to a video proctoring session within the Cue Health App. When you begin your test for international travel using the Cue Health App, be sure to select “yes” for the Supervised Test for Travel.

Your COVID-19 test must be authorized for use by the relevant national authority in the country where the test is administered. In Canada, Cue’s COVID-19 supervised test for travel meets the Health Canada Interim Order for both consumer self-testing at home without a prescription and for professional use at point-of-care. However, at this time the Cue COVID-19 Test is not yet available for shipping to individuals with addresses in Canada. Cue is working hard to make this happen soon.

Cue's COVID-19 test is also authorized in Singapore (PSAR) for self-testing. The test is authorized for professional use only in the European Union (CE Mark) and in India (CDSCO).

Please note that testing requirements vary from country to country and are constantly evolving. It is essential that travelers check the Travel Ready hub at aircanada.com/travelready to ensure they have the most up-to-date country-specific requirements before they travel.

ARE CUE’S TEST RESULTS ACCEPTED BY ArriveCAN?

Cue’s COVID-19 supervised test provides a certified test result, which is required for international travel*, and meets the criteria for ArriveCAN Canada entry requirements.

*Please note that testing requirements vary from country to country and are constantly evolving. It is essential that travelers check the Travel Ready hub at aircanada.com/travelready to ensure they have the most up-to-date country-specific requirements before they travel.

HOW MANY CUE COVID-19 TESTS DO I NEED?

When traveling internationally, Cue recommends having the following number of Cue test cartridges on hand: one for your outbound flight, one for your return flight and one as backup in case of a failed test. That means, for a person traveling alone, we recommend one Reader + 3 test cartridges. For a family of four traveling, we recommend one Reader + 10 test cartridges. Be sure to pack your Cue Reader and test cartridges in your carry on so they are not subject to extreme temperatures. Please keep in mind that your reusable Reader can be used for future testing needs; additional tests can be ordered as needed. For more information on storage requirements, please see the Cue® Health Monitoring System User Manual.

IS CUE’S COVID-19 OTC (OVER-THE-COUNTER) TEST APPROVED OR AUTHORIZED BY THE FDA?

The Cue COVID-19 Test for Home and Over the Counter (OTC) Use has Emergency Use Authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for OTC use without a prescription at home and in other non-clinical settings. The test can also be used in professional clinical and point-of-care settings. To read the FDA authorizations, visit our product documentation page.

HOW DOES CUE’S COVID-19 OTC (OVER-THE-COUNTER) TEST COMPARE TO OTHER COVID-19 TESTS?

The Cue COVID-19 Test for Home and Over The-Counter (OTC) Use is a molecular test that combines the diagnostic accuracy of a central lab with the speed and convenience of an at-home test. Cue’s COVID-19 OTC test is self-contained (no need to mix fluids) and easy to run. The portable device fits in the palm of your hand and delivers accurate results directly to your mobile smart device in about 20 minutes.

Cue’s COVID-19 test uses nucleic acid amplification, and it was found to be equivalent to polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in an independent study conducted by Mayo Clinic. The study found 97.8% agreement between Cue’s COVID-19 test and central lab PCR testing. In a separate clinical study with lay users, Cue’s COVID-19 OTC Test demonstrated sensitivity of 97% (% positive agreement) and specificity of 99% (% negative agreement). Importantly, the study showed the test was 100% accurate in people infected with the virus who were asymptomatic.

Most other COVID-19 self-tests are antigen tests. Compared to molecular tests, antigen tests are less sensitive and more likely to give false negative results, especially among people who are infected but asymptomatic. Healthcare providers may suggest a follow-up molecular test to verify the results of an antigen test. Unlike many other COVID-19 diagnostic tests, with Cue, you don’t need a healthcare professional to administer the test or to analyze the results. And, with lab-quality results, including for known variants, there’s no need for additional, confirmatory testing.

HOW DO I PERFORM A CUE COVID-19 TEST?

To administer Cue’s COVID-19 test, you will need to download, launch, and log in to the Cue Mobile Health App, where step-by-step instructions and videos on running the test are displayed. The Cue COVID-19 Test Cartridge is inserted into the Cue Reader to preheat. The user of the test collects a nasal sample from the lower portion of both nostrils using the included Cue Sample Wand, and inserts the Wand into the pre-heated Cartridge. The Cartridge and Reader work together to complete the test and communicate the progress and results in about 20 minutes to a compatible mobile smart device that is running the Cue Health App. Please note that Cue tests cannot be administered via a computer. They require the Cue App on a compatible mobile smart device.

WHO CAN BE TESTED WITH CUE’S OTC (OVER-THE-COUNTER) COVID-19 TEST?

The Cue COVID-19 Test for Home and Over The Counter (OTC) Use is authorized for use by consumers at home and in non-clinical settings without a prescription. Cue’s COVID-19 OTC Test can be self-administered by adults or administered to children ages 2 or older with adult assistance. Cue’s OTC Test is appropriate for individuals experiencing symptoms and those who are asymptomatic.
